3. National Museum of Bhutan (Ta Dzong)
Housed in a striking circular watchtower, the National Museum displays Bhutanese art, thangkas, weaponry, and historical artifacts. The panoramic views of Paro Valley from the museum are breathtaking.
4. Kyichu Lhakhang
One of Bhutan’s oldest temples, Kyichu Lhakhang is believed to have been built in the 7th century. Its peaceful courtyards and vibrant prayer wheels make it a spiritual highlight and a photographer’s delight.
5. Explore Paro Town
Wander through Paro town’s charming streets, filled with traditional shops, cafes, and markets. Pick up local handicrafts, souvenirs, or simply soak in the valley’s relaxed vibe.
6. Drukgyel Dzong & Surrounding Peaks
This fortress ruin overlooks the Paro Valley with the Himalayas rising behind it, including a distant view of Mount Jomolhari. The combination of historic architecture and soaring peaks is jaw-dropping.
